I joined this virtual tour of the world-famous Uffizi Gallery in Florence this evening.  It is the oldest collection of artworks in the world and was founded in 1581 from a collection from the powerful Medici banking family.  This virtual tour only had time in the hour or so allotted to it to look at the key works by the renaissance masters such as Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Titian, Caravaggio and Raphael and includes classical myths and depictions of the Christian story.  Below are just a few photographs that I took of the paintings, plus some of the building itself and of Florence seen from the gallery windows.

Holborn and the British Museum

I've not been on here for quite a while because the Heygo app changed, making it more difficult to share photos taken on their virtual tours, but this now seems to have been resolved so I hope to be on here more often from now on.  This evening, I joined a virtual walk in London: Dark Tales of Holborn and the British Museum.  I include some postcards below  which are not in the order in which they were taken.

A walk in the woods

I joined a virtual walk in a wood near Vancouver, in British Columbia, Canada. This wood, Ladner Wood, is a very special one because it has numerous wood carvings scattered throughout the wood, created by a local wood sculptor. These carvings started appearing in 2018 and are made from storm-damaged trees. Some resemble figures from Tolkien's works, and some are animals; all are quirky.

Here is a link to the info about the tour.  And here is a link to further info about these woods.
